Mathematics A-Level at Campion School

Course description

Students studying Maths will extend their range of mathematical skills and techniques and use them in more difficult, unstructured problems. This subject has a reputation of being rather difficult but presents a stimulating challenge to students who enjoy maths and have an aptitude for it. There is an emphasis on trigonometry and algebra within the course and thus it will particularly suit those who excel at these topics. This course will cover both Mechanics ( M1) and Statistics (S1) over the 2 yr course..

Entry requirements

An A*, A or B GCSE grade in Maths from the Higher Course

Future opportunities

Studying this subject may lead to many different areas of employment or further education. It is a good mixer with other A level subjects. This option is a good choice for those studying Sciences, in particular it is recommended for those choosing Physics. It mixes well with other A level subjects particularly Psychology, Biology, Geography, Business Studies and Economics
