BTEC Business at Holyhead
BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Business offers a thorough insight into the world of business that all of us come into contact with every day. It covers all processes and types of jobs available in all businesses from the Accountant in the Finance department to the Personnel Manager in the Human Resources department. We do a lot of investigation into businesses to find out how they are putting the theory into practice in the current economic climate.
This course is ideal for you if you enjoy thinking about and evaluating various situations. Are you able to imagine yourself in real life business situations and think of all the elements that might be involved? You will examine how the different parts of businesses work and what factors influence their decisions and activities. You will also be required to participate in work related scenarios, e.g. setting up and holding a meeting, communicating with fellow ‘employees’ and making financial decisions.
The ability to write reports, create Newsletters, Articles and PowerPoint Presentation. Be able to create financial documents, analyse information and make recommendations to real life business scenarios. The ability to present your work in front of an audience, debate various issues and take part in role plays. The ability to collate evidence of all work including video evidence.
A minimum of 5 A*-C grades at GCSE including English and Maths
Distinction in BTEC Business or Grade C if studied GCSE Business
All three units are coursework and assessed as Pass, Merit or Distinction.
The Level 3 Certificate is broadly equivalent to 1 GCE AS-level.
Visits to businesses used in assignments such as Pizza Hut, British Red Cross, Greggs and Jaguar Land Rover.
