Public Services BTEC Diploma Level 3 at Bradford College

Course description

If you enjoy working with people, a career in the Public Services is perfect for you. The course will give you a realistic introduction to work in any of the Uniformed Public Services including: Fire, Police, Ambulance, Prison, Customs and Excise or Armed Forces. You should be highly self-motivated, disciplined and punctual. The course is stimulating and varied, as it combines classroom-based study with exciting outdoor activity and group work.

Successful completion of Year One of the course leads to an award of BTEC Diploma.

Course content

Units offered include: Government and Policies, Leadership & Teamwork, Citizenship & Diversity, Crime & Its Effects on Society, and Planning & Management of Major Incidents.

Throughout the course you will have opportunities to improve your Mathematics and English skills and to use appropriate computer software. Participation in a range of outdoor activities is an essential element of the course.

Residential visits are an integral part of the course.

Entry requirements

Successful completion of the BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Public Services with a high grade profile and a successful interview.
