Horse Management Level 3 Extended Diploma at Oaklands College

Course description

The qualification meet the needs of learners in a centre-based environment who may wish to work within the horse industry or progress to further learning and/or training. They allow learners to develop underpinning knowledge whilst practising skills that could be used within employment in the horse industry.

Course content

To gain the NPTC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Horse Management learners need to achieve a minimum 180 credits respectively.

Entry requirements

Five GCSEs at C grade or above in English, Maths and Science or a Pass in the Level 2 Horse Care course.

If you have a strong passion and comitment for horses and want to improve your riding and management skills to enable you to be employable in the Equine industry then this course would suit your needs.


Each module contains up to five assessments/assignments which are marked by your tutor. The assessments/assignments are then internally verified before being checked by a representitive of NPTC.

Financial information

16-18 years old, no tuition fees apply to Full Time courses and fees subject to confirmation. Additional costs applicable to BHS courses.

Future opportunities

Success at Level 3 with positive references from employers and tutors will enable you to progress on to the FdSc Equine Performance and Management or obtain a responsible position in the Equine industry.

Further information

The training for British Horse Society exams will be offered as part of your course. The exams will take place at Oaklands College Smallford. Students will be responsible for joining the BHS and entering and paying for the exam.
