Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts at Ashton Sixth Form College

Course description

This course is made up of a range of lessons in Dancing, Singing and Acting. It is a 2 year course which is the equivalent to three A-Levels. Lessons are mainly practical (such as workshops and master classes) with complimentary written work and research.

Theatre for Children, Musical Theatre Performance, Developing voice for the Actor, Principles of Acting, Film and TV Acting, Singing Skills for Actors and Dancers, Dance Performance, Choreographing Principles, Developing Classical Ballet Skills, Jazz Dance, Developing Movement Skills, Urban Dance, Singing Techniques and Performance

Entry requirements

Minimum 4 Grade Cs at GCSE or Equivalent

Grade D — GCSE English Language or Maths

Future opportunities

You could go into employment or go on and train at a higher level. The Performing Arts BTEC qualifies for UCAS points, so you could go on to study at university, performance schools, conservatoires, institutes, or do an HND in Performing Arts.

Performing Arts students progress onto a wide variety of degrees and careers.
