Music BTEC level 3 at Easthampstead Park Community School

Course description

You will develop skills your skills further in Music. This will prepare you to apply for Music at both University and College. If you are not thinking of taking it beyond sixth form it will give you an interest to follow in your personal life, as well as confidence in presenting ideas, problem solving and creative thinking in your working life.

Course content

The units which are included in Music are:

●     Music Performance Techniques (compulsory)

●     Pop Music in Practice

●     Solo Performer

●     Working as a Musical Ensemble

●     Music in the Community

●     Songwriting

●     Live Sound

●     Session Musician

You would work on 6 units:  Music Performance Techniques plus 5 others.

Entry requirements

Level 2 Performing Arts would be desirable but not essential.


You will be set assignments throughout the two years to complete the units, which consist of both written and performance tasks.  These are all marked internally and then sampled by an external moderator.  The grades are Pass, Merit, Distinction and *Distinction and they are awarded UCAS points for University entry.
