Bricklaying Level 3 Diploma at Aylesbury College

Course description

This course will provide you with knowledge and experience you will require to complete and carry out a range of bricklaying techniques to industry standards, along with additional skills required for supervisory jobs.

Course content

The course is unit-based which is has practical and theory work which is evidenced in a portfolio. Once you have achieved competence in all units you then take a practical phase test and health and safety tests.

 

Example modules Building models including circular work arches and decorative brickwork Chimney and fireplace construction and transferring levels Erecting complex masonry structures Repairing and maintaining masonry structures Site management and supervision Understanding construction and the environment Applying mathematics in construction The application of science and materials in construction Construction technology and design Building technology in construction Planning, organisation and control of resources in construction Graphical detailing in construction Surveying and building surveying in construction Health, safety and welfare in the construction industry

 

Entry requirements

Be expected to have Level 2 in Bricklaying or equivalent qualifications/experience.

Future opportunities
