Course description

AS: Two units studied. 1. Information Systems (Exam 60%) 2. Presenting Information (Coursework 40%)

Full A level content: AS content plus two further units studied, 3. Use and Impact of ICT (Exam 60%) 4. Relational Databases (Coursework 40%)

Entry requirements

Students are required to have C grade in GCSE ICT.


Assessment of coursework is assessed internally and then moderated externally by WJEC.  The exam units are in June for Y12 and Y13 students.

Future opportunities

This course is ideal for any student considering a future career where a good grounding in ICT is required. ICT is an important subject as most careers require employees to be able to use a range of applications and be ICT literate therefore a qualification in ICT will be beneficial for many careers including Retail, Management, Office based, Teaching, Sales, Marketing, Data Management, IT analyst, IT Technician and many more.
