GCE A2 Level Expressive Textiles at Queen Elizabeth School

Course description

A2 Expressive Textiles has two assessed units: 1. Specialist Project - in this unit you will draw on your experience from AS. You will devise, with guidance, your own programme of study based on a chosen theme. You will record your work in a sketchbook or folio which will lead onto larger scale works. We will help you to focus and build on your strengths as you plan an ambitious exploration of expressive textiles. The difference at A2 level is that the depth of study will be greater and the source material must be first hand. 2. Controlled Test - A formal 15 hour exam. Like the Controlled Assignment for AS, you will be given an initial stimulus and a period in which to research and prepare ideas in a sketchbook prior to the 3 day exam. This is an opportunity for you to respond confidently and produce one large or several smaller pieces of textile which will encapsulate all you have learnt over the two years. Visits to galleries&contact with practising artists and designers.

Entry requirements
