Course description

Media Studies is a practical and academic course which allows you to draw on your existing experience of the media and to develop your abilities to respond critically. This course encourages the creative development of your own production skills which, in turn, enables you to gain a greater appreciation of real-life media. As film, TV, magazines and the internet are of particular interest to many students, Media Studies has become increasingly popular. It is a subject which students already have a great deal of knowledge and experience.

The study of media can lead to a career or higher education opportunities in the areas of publishing, journalism, film and television. The course appeals to organised, enthusiastic students who are keen to develop group working and ICT skills, as well as gain an interesting and in-depth insight into this fascinating aspect of the real world.

Entry requirements

The equivalent of atleast five GCSEs at grade C or above
