Course description

CCP Graduate School can offer you the Diploma in Education and Training (DET) programme. This Level 5 Diploma develops good teaching practice using your extensive research and into current practice theories and models relating to education and training.

Theories, Principles and Models in Education and Training (20 Credits) Level 5
Developing Teaching, Learning and Assessment in Education and Training ( 20 Credits) Level 5
Teaching, Learning and Assessment in Education and Training ( 20 Credits ) Level 4
Wider Professional Practice and Development in Education and Training ( 15 Credits) Level 5

Optional Units

Developing, Using and Organising Resources in a Specialist Area (15 Credits) Level 5
Inclusive Practice ( 15 Credits) Level 4
Teaching in a Specialist Area ( 15 Credits) Level 4

Teaching Practice

As a trainee on this course, you will be required to complete 100 teaching practice hours. We would be expecting learners to secure these hours before starting the programme. CCP Graduate school offer a placement support service through our welfare and recruitment team as part of our strategy to improve enhancement of learning .
You will be learning a number of theories and strategies that you can implement in your teaching practice, and you will be required to reflect on your practice as you continue. You will need demonstrate your ability to plan, deliver and assess your students.

During your 100 hours DET teaching practice, you will be required to be observed for a minimum of 8 hours, over a minimum of 8 occasions. Your tutor will then provide you with constructive feedback, which will further your development as a teacher / trainer.

Methods of Assessment

In order to achieve your qualification you will complete a series of theoretical and practical tasks. You will be required to allocate a substantial amount of time for your teaching preparation, research and delivery. You will be guided by your tutor

Our qualified teaching staff will guide you through the process, through focused classroom activities , lectures and webinars.

Knowledge in each unit will be assessed by the completion of written assignments.

Your teaching practice will assessed according to Ofsted guidelines and will be documented through session planning, observation reports and reflective journals

You must be aged 19 or over and be experienced or qualified in the area that you want to teach. You must have access to 100 hours worth of teaching practice. You are also required to have a good level of written and spoken English to complete the theory and practical assessments.
