Production Arts BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma at The Astley Cooper School

Course description

The BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma gives you an understanding of how production technology can enhance and support theatre performances. You will develop understanding of a broad range of skills and techniques which will help you to start a successful career should you choose to.

You will follow this course with two or three other AS/A2 levels and, additionally, the compulsory core such as PSHE, RE, PE/Games.

Assessment

All units are examined through practical and portfolio work rather than written examinations.

Future opportunities

This course will provide you with the level of skill required to pursue Production Arts at a higher level or progress you straight into employment in the production area of the Performing Arts industry for example, lighting technician, stage manager or TV/film operator.

Additional Information This course is ideal for students who are interested in working as part of a technical stage crew for theatre performances.

It is worth the equivalent of one A Level qualification.
