Entry to the Uniformed Services BTEC Intermediate Diploma Level 2 at Fareham College

Course description

This course will introduce you to the public and uniformed services sector. During the course, you will have the opportunity to be involved in exciting and often adventurous visits and activities.

Taking part in practical and physical challenges is an integral part of the course. Volunteering is a key part of the programme to increase awareness of your social responsibility.

Course content

Your course will include:

  • Investigate employment opportunities in the uniformed services

  • Explore and participate in all aspects of physical fitness

  • Develop team working and problem solving skills

  • Health and safety training

  • Map reading and navigation

  • Volunteering within a chosen organisation

  • Undertake a range of adventurous activities


Entry requirements

Five GCSEs at grade D or above.

Financial information

You will be required to purchase a uniform to wear in class and for practical activities and pay a contribution towards external visits.

Future opportunities

On successful completion you can progress on to a Level 3 Uniformed Services course.

Further information

The Qualification gained is the BTEC Diploma in Public Services.
