Course description

Equivalent to 3 A Levels

Information Technology influences nearly all aspects of our lives and will do for years to come. If you are interested in computers and want to learn more about how they can be used to solve real life problems, then you should join our BTEC IT course.

The BTEC IT course at OSFC allows you to experience a wide range of both practical and theoretical areas of the world of ICT. The units covered will involve the creation of a wide range of assignments, using evidence from your own videos, PowerPoint presentations, booklets and leaflets in Word and Publisher, Web pages, reports and observations. If you’re the kind of learner who enjoys a more practical approach and prefers coursework and assignments to examinations, then this course is for you! We have an excellent, high specification range of resources available for the different units we offer, both hardware and software.

We have a wide selection of course resources and make extensive use of e-books and you will learn how to navigate effectively the “beast that is Google” and other online resources. In addition, you’ll have the chance to take part in a residential trip to Disneyland Paris to see the practical use of IT first hand and how it helps to make businesses more efficient.
