Course description

In Drama and Theatre Studies you will develop your interest and enjoyment in Drama and Theatre both as practical participants and as informed, intellectual specialists.

You will develop a critical appreciation of the subject through the study and analysis of play scripts, recognized theatre practitioners and professional performance work.

You will experience a range of opportunities to develop a variety of dramatic and theatrical skills, enabling you to grow creatively and imaginatively in both devised and scripted work.

The course will integrate theory and practice through your understanding of critical concepts and the use of specialist terminology and performance. Drama and Theatre Studies can complement any subject and the skills acquired are transferable to other areas of study. Students completing the course successfully will have a thorough understanding of Drama and Theatre, highly toned analytical and creative skills, and an ability to communicate effectively with others.
