Public Services Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma at Wigan & Leigh College

Course description

This course will help you gain the knowledge, understanding and skills required for success in employment in the Public Services – Police, Fire and Rescue, Paramedic, Prison Services or Armed Forces. This course is best suited to students with a high level of self-discipline and a mature approach to study and learning.

Course content

The programme of study covers modules such as: government and policies, leadership and teamwork, citizenship and diversity, understanding discipline, physical fitness, communication and technology and volunteering in the public services sector. You will also undertake a range of voluntary and work related activities to enhance employability skills.

Entry requirements

GCSE TARIFF

A minimum of 5 A*-C/ 4-9 GCSE subjects or equivalent including maths or English

Assessment

All units are assessed by the completion of assignments.
