GCSE: English Language and Literature at Ashby School
The vast majority of our students will study English Literature as a separate GCSE. It requires one extra piece of coursework and the study of additional poetry and a novel or short stories.
Students take this course to prepare for A level courses such as an A/AS Level in English Literature. With further training, students may choose a career related to English literature such as becoming a teacher, poet, writer or journalist. Some students go straight into employment and do further training or part time study with the support of an employer.
