Course description

The Production Arts Extended Diploma is a practical, work-related course. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. The Production Arts course offers training in aspects of Technical Theatre and Production Design including Technical Stage Operations, Lighting, Sound, Stage Management, Props, Costuming, Make-Up and Theatre Administration. Students will also study other important elements of the performing arts including the Performing Arts Business and The Historical Context of Performance. Students are able to specialise in their preferred area such as Front of House, Stage Management, Lighting, Sound, Stage design etc.

BTEC Level 3 Production Arts Subsidiary Diploma extends specialist work-related focus and covers the key knowledge and practical skills required in the appropriate vocational sector. It offers greater flexibility and a choice of emphasis through the units. It is broadly equivalent to one GCE A Level.
