Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport Development, Coaching and Fitness at Newton Rigg College

Course description

The two year course combines academic sporting

qualifications with practical skills development, coaching and

competitive fixtures and is designed for students wishing to

develop a comprehensive overview of the sports industry with

a specific focus on the game. Students will work daily on their

fitness and skills, gaining knowledge of key issues in sport.

• Fitness Training and Programming

• Sports Coaching

• Sports Development

• Fitness Testing for Sport and Exercise

• Practical Team Sports and Individual Sports

• Sport Therapies and Sports Rehabilitation

• Field based fitness testing for sport and exercise

• Sports Events

Entry requirements

Normally four GCSEs at grade C or above (which should include English, Maths and Science as applicable to the individual course), or an equivalent Level 2 qualification at a suitable grade.
