IT and Modern Computing BTEC Diploma Level 2 at City College Brighton and Hove
This intensive one year course is for students who wish to become IT System Support Professionals. It has been designed closely with industry experts to ensure it delivers the latest skills.
City College’s Computing department specialises in delivering applied Computing courses. We pride ourselves in keeping up to date and our courses provide a sound theoretical and applied perspective to modern computing and IT topics.
Emphasis is placed on hands on experience in the installation and configuration of software and hardware and developing programming skills.
This course also aims to provide students with the opportunity to develop the personal skills and attributes essential for successful performance in working life.

- Working in the IT Industry
- Computer Systems
- Customising Software
- Mathematics for IT
- Event driven Programming
- Computer Graphics
Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grades E or better or an equivalent level 1 qualification (eg BTEC or City & Guilds).
You will be assessed using a variety of methods including report writing, practical exercises, presentations delivered to your group and short tests.
After successfully completing this course, you may wish to progress your skills and knowledge by moving onto the BTEC Advanced qualification.
Alternatively, you can enter the IT industry at a junior level.
