Health and Social Care Level 3 BTEC Diploma at Monks Walk School

Course description

Health and Social Care develops the knowledge and skills needed to pursue a career or further study in a related area. There are many career options following successful completion of the diploma, including nursing, social work and occupational therapy. There is a strong emphasis on developing employment skills that will be useful in any area of work.

Course content

Examples of topics studied are developing communication skills, equality and diversity, promoting health education, anatomy, physiological disorders and care of children or young people.

Entry requirements

APS 38.5. A successful interview.

Assessment

Assessment is varied and includes evidence from work experience placements, presentations, role plays, written assignments and reflective diary entries.

Future opportunities

The course is excellent preparation for university level study or working life in an occupation within the health or social care sectors.
