Health & Social Care Apprenticeship framework. This consists of:. Edexcel Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) for England (QCF) - 501/1699/X (Competence based). Edexcel BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care(QCF) - 501/1586/8 (Knowledge based). Functional skills Mathematics Level 1. Functional skills English Level 1. Edexcel BTEC Level 2 Award in Employment Responsibilities and Rights in Health & Social Care (QCF) 501/1589/3* Personal Learning and Thinking Skills Assessment and Recognition (PLTS).The Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care and the Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care (QCF) are the main components within the Health and Social Care Apprenticeships. The aim of this qualification is to contribute to the skills, knowledge and overall performance of the Health & Social Care worker. It provides an insight into the principles of care and legislation of the sector and will aid career development.This QCF competence-based qualification is designed for those people who:. are involved in the Health & Social Care sector as their primary work activity.. wish to gain recognition of their skills and experience in Health & Social Care
Entry requirements
All prospective learners will be interviewed and complete a skills scan & initial assessment.
Assessment
The Diploma is the competence based qualification assessed by portfolio.The qualification consists of a minimum of 46 credits.These are drawn from 24 mandatory credits, a minimum of 2 credits and a maximum of 7 credits from the optional/specialist knowledge units and 15 Credits from optional competence units.The Knowledge Certificate focuses on the knowledge and understanding which underpins the acquisition of a wide range of work, interpersonal and technical skills needed by health and social care workers in the UK workforce.The knowledge Certificate also covers Employment Responsibilities and Rights (ERR) and wider aspects of the occupation/sector as determined by the CfA. Personal Learning and Thinking Skills Assessment and Recognition (PLTS) are assessed through the achievement of the framework.
Future opportunities
Successful students may progress to a higher level. Health & Social Care employees who advance to a Senior position can then undertake the Advanced Apprenticeship in Health & Social Care.
