You may not have studied any business-related subjects before but that does not matter. However, a strong ability in, and enthusiasm for, English and Mathematics would be highly desirable. This is a dynamic course designed to engage students through topics and issues that are relevant in today’s society. Students will develop the knowledge and skills needed to analyse data, think critically about issues and make informed decisions. These are skills that are needed for further study and employment.
Paper 1- Business 1 What is assessed (all content above)? Assessed by a written exam: two hours. 100 marks in total, 33.3% of A Level weighting. Questions: Three compulsory sections: Section A has 15 multiple choice questions (MCQs) worth 15 marks. Section B has short answer questions worth 35 marks. Section C has two essay questions (choice of one from two and one from two), each worth 25 marks.
Paper 2 - Business 2 What is assessed (all content above). Assessed by a written exam: two hours. 100 marks in total, 33.3% of A Level weighting. Questions: Three data response compulsory questions worth approximately 33 marks each and made up of three or four part questions.
Paper 3 - Business 3 What is assessed (all content above)? Assessed by a written exam: two hours. 100 marks in total, 33.3% of A Level weighting.
