German at Branston Community Academy

Course description

Students are given opportunities to develop their ideas and opinions, as well as their knowledge about the contemporary themes and important issues covered in this course. Inherent in the course is the development of awareness of German speaking cultures across the world, and an understanding of their way of life.

The course builds upon and extends students’ knowledge of German, from the point reached at GCSE. With the countries of Europe working more and more closely together, it is becoming ever more important that future generations can communicate effectively in a foreign language. Topics covered therefore reflect this linguistic need.

Entry requirements

At least a grade B in German at GCSE. However, strong grade C candidates might be considered.
