Health and Social Care Apprenticeship Level 3 at City College Coventry

Course description

This framework is suitable for people who would like to work in the health or social care sector and who enjoy caring and looking after other people.

Course content

This course is for anyone wanting to progress in a supervisory role in the sector. You will be employed working with adults in a variety of settings including residential care settings, domiciliary services, home care support and supported living services. The apprenticeship will enable you to build on your knowledge and expertise in adult social care. Relevant job roles include:

  • Care Officer/Supervisor
  • Senior Care Worker or Supervising Care Worker
  • Social Work Assistant
  • Outreach Development
  • Community Support
  • Family Support

As well as earning a wage you will gain experience of working in a supervisory role in a health and social care environment. The apprenticeship will enable you to further develop the adult care skills and knowledge that employers require as well as transferable skills such as English and Maths.

The course is delivered in your workplace, however College attendance maybe necessary for functional skills/GCSE classes.

You will be allocated a personal assessor who will guide and support you with training, assessment and portfolio building.

Entry requirements

You need to be employed in a relevant role to join an Apprenticeship programme plus:

4 GCSEs Grade C or above, including English & maths

or a relevant Level 2 qualification at Merit Level combined with GCSE/Level 2 English & maths
