Unit 4: Meeting Customer Needs
Students explore the different types of customer that a business deals with and how their needs are met regarding the quality of products and after-sales service. Unit 5: Business and Communication Information Systems
ICT software is essential for providing clear communication in business and this is the focus of this unit of work. All students need to have a good working knowledge of ICT applications and how they can be most effectively used in aiding communication.

A2 COURSE

Unit 8: Business Planning
All students follow this unit, in which a business plan is prepared for a hypothetical business of their choice. This is an essential skill for those hoping to own and run a business of their own one day.

Other units are selected taking into account the individual skills of the group.

Entry requirements

A good standard of English and Maths is required (grade C is preferred in both subjects). If GCSE Business Studies has been taken, then at least a grade C is required.

Assessment

Since the course is assessed partly by coursework (50%), students are continually building up a picture of how they are performing. This helps them to plan their next move with a degree of certainty.

Future opportunities

Our students go on to follow a wide range of courses at university, including Business, Economics, Law and Geography.
