BTEC Health & Social Care Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma at Nottingham Academy

Course description

If you are interested in working in a health and social care

environment, then this course will help prepare you for

university and employment.

Course content

Unit 1: Communications in Health & Social Care

You will learn about the different forms of communication,

understand the barriers to communication and be able to

communicate effectively.

Unit 3: Health, Safety and Security in Health and Social Care

You will gain knowledge about how legislation, policies and

procedures promote health, safety and security and will be

able to implement a risk assessment in a care setting.

Unit 21: Nutrition for Health

You will gain knowledge and understanding of the influences

on dietary intake and nutritional health.

 

In the second year of the course you will cover:

Unit 2: Equality, Diversity and Rights in Health and Social Care.

Unit 4: Development through the life stages.

Unit 10: Caring for children and young people.

Entry requirements

5+ A*-C grades at GCSE including C grade or above in English

Assessment

Portfolio work – 100% coursework.

Future opportunities

University or employment within a health and social care settings.
