Additional Qualifications you will gain:

Level 2 Award in Sports Leadership

Level 2 Assistance in Basic Expedition Leadership

Level 2 Award in Understanding Stewarding in Spectator Events

First Aid Certificate

Designed for students who would like to gain employment in the uniformed services sector either in an operational role or an office support role.  Subjects include teamwork, outdoor activities (canoeing and kayaking), crime and society, equal opportunities, psychology, international rights and governments and politics, plus fitness for the uniformed services.  There are no exams, 100% coursework.  Learning will be varied and practical with frequent use made of guest speakers and visits to local organisations.  A key feature of the course will be the opportunity to attend week long study trips at outward bound activity centres.  One day per week is spent at the PGL Adventure Park.

Entry requirements

Five GCSEs at Grade C or above, including English Language.  Progression from    Level 2 Uniformed Services at Distinction.  Success college interview.

Future opportunities

Higher study at university is a typical route.  Students may study Public Services, Law, Sport, Sociology or Psychology.  Alternatively the course provides a firm platform to build on if seeking direct entry into the uniformed services sector.
