Travel and Tourism BTEC Level 2 at Wollaston School

Course description

Travel & Tourism is a vocational course aimed at students who may be considering employment with- in the Travel &Tourism industry. This is one of the biggest industries in the UK currently employing an estimated 1.4 million people. Even those students not considering employment within Travel & Tour- ism would benefit from the units based on Customer Service and Marketing. There are natural links with Business and Geography AS level. The subsidiary Diploma is the equivalent of one A Level, and the Diploma equates to 2 A Levels.

Assessment

The course is 100% coursework and students will need to cover 6 units (single) and 12 Units (Double).

Future opportunities

The travel and tourism industry is growing rapidly and offers opportunities in areas as diverse as hotel management, conference and event organisation, customer services, travel agencies, tour manage- ment, holiday reps, hospitality, visitor attractions, heritage, entertainment and leisure and transport. This course will enable you to enter employment or to continue with Travel and tourism at University.
