Law AS/A2 Level at Joyce Frankland Academy

Course description

At AS you will study the principles of the English legal system including civil and criminal process – the different roles of court officials and the police, and the aims of the system. Across AS and A2 there are opportunities to study both the civil and criminal law, via case studies and by applying principles to given scenarios.

You will require a good level of written English and an interest in reading non-fiction material. A strong interest in current affairs would be an advantage.

Please note that an A level in law is not required for those wishing to study law at university or to practice law. However, it might be a useful insight into the principles of the legal system that would benefit work in a range of business and social support roles.

The discipline of studying law will develop your written communication and your skills of reading with precision.

Entry requirements

Assessment
