Land-Based Studies BTEC Level 1 Diploma at Burnley College

Course description

This course teaches the skills related to the land and environmental sectors including soil identification and testing, maintenance of grass and plants, tractor operation and maintenance of equipment.

You will study topics including ecology and conservation, estate management, plant science, countryside tourism and environmental issues.

Entry requirements

Two GCSEs at grade D or above including English Language OR a relevant Foundation Learning qualification including a GCSE grade D in English Language OR Relevant work experience.


Assessment is via coursework and practical assessments.

Future opportunities

You could progress to BTEC Level 2 in Environmental Studies (Land-based/Countryside).
