Motorcycle Maintenance and Repair City and Guilds Level 2 Diploma in at Bromley College of Further & Higher Education
This course provides you with the opportunity to study the repair and maintenance of motorcycles and motor scooters at an intermediate level.
It takes place in purpose-built facilities where you use the latest industry standard tools, equipment and current model motorcycles.
Much of the course involves direct, hands-on work on the motorcycles and the use of a wide range of tools and equipment in addition to learning the principles and methods of a wide range of service and repair operations.
You will also study the following topics:
- Health & Safety in the workplace
- Motorcycle internal engine systems
- Fuel, ignition, air and exhaust systems
- Job roles in the automotive environment
Minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade D or above, including English and Maths (or equivalent Functional Skills at Level 1) and/or C&G Level 1 Diploma in Light Vehicle Systems.
The course is continuously assessed with some external assessment and testing through written and practical assignments and tests.
You will be observed carrying out workshop tasks and be required to build a portfolio of evidence from these workshop practical activities carried out within the College.
Students will need to purchase safety footware, overalls and a course text book.
On successful completion of this course you can progress onto a level 3 motor vehicle programme or gain employment or an apprenticeship in the automotive industry.
