Health and Social Care - BTEC 90 Credit Diploma in Health & Social Care at Calderdale College

Course description

This qualification is designed to develop a greater understanding of the Health & Social Care working environment, develop skills and provide an opportunity to apply learning in a practical and realistic way through work placement. This course is suitable for people aged 16 - 18 years.

Course content

You will develop a wealth of knowledge and awareness of the types of provisions in Health and/or Social Care sectors and the roles played by people who work within them.

Entry requirements

You will need to already possess a Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care or CACHE Level 2 Diploma in Childcare and Education  or school leavers should aim to achieve at least  4 GCSE’s grade C and above and at least a grade D in English Language. You will also need to provide 2 references and complete a CRB check.

You will be invited to attend an interview with a specialist tutor. This will provide you with an opportunity to ask any questions you may have in regards to this course.

Assessment

The course is assessed by the completion of coursework.

Future opportunities

On successful completion of this course, learners aged 19 or over can progress onto either the Access to HE: Combined Studies or the Access to HE: Health Professions. Learners aged 16-18 can progress on to the BTEC Extended Diploma in Health & Social Care.
