ENGLISH LITERATURE - A2 Level GCE (WJEC) at Millbrook Academy

Course description

Level 3

The WJEC course continues to flourish with our best ever AS results in August. We will be studying the following units:

LL3 – Analysing and Producing Performance Texts: this exciting and challenging unit offers students the chance to explore their creative sides. The first part of the unit allows the student to study a range of Drama texts, analysing the use of language, structure and stagecraft of the work. In the second part, we will be preparing texts for performance, giving students the chance to draft, rehearse, edit and perform their own work. However, it is the quality of the text and not the performance that counts.

LL4 – Comparative Textual Analysis and Review: Finally, students will apply the knowledge gleaned throughout the entire course to compare and contrast unseen texts. In addition to this, candidates will answer one question that again allows them to apply their knowledge of all things literary and linguistic. This time, from a list of poetry and prose prescribed by the board.
