Electrical Apprenticeship Level 3 at New College Nottingham

Course description

Building a career in the electrical trade could lead to you working in all kinds of different job roles, and an Apprenticeship is a great place to start.

You'll be working alongside industry professionals who will support you in your training and development as you gain the skills and knowledge you'll need to follow them into the industry. 

You'll be learning all about how to plan, select and install electrotechnical equipment and systems, as well as how to work safely and develop good working relationships with your colleagues. 

You'll be supported throughout your Apprenticeship by an ncn assessor who will visit you regularly to check on your progress.

Course content

This course consists of the following:

Level 2

  • Installing Electro-Technical Systems City & Guilds Level 2
  • Health & safety legislation
  • Principles of planning and selection for the installation of electrotechnical equipment and systems
  • Candidates will also complete Level 1 Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT, PLTS and ERR

Level 3 

  • Installing Electro-Technical Systems City & Guilds Level 3
  • Health & safety legislation
  • Principles of planning and selection for the installation of electrotechnical equipment and systems
  • Candidates will also complete Level 2 Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT, PLTS and ERR

Entry requirements

You MUST:

  • Be aged 16 or over
  • Have lived in the UK for the past three years
  • Be employed in the trade and work a minimum of 30 hours per week

Assessment

Observation/questioning/witness statement/Professional discussion.

Future opportunities

  • Progress to Level 3 Higher Apprenticeship in Site Supervision
