Hospitality Services (QCF) Level 2 Food Preparation / Production Diploma at College of North West London (FE)

Course description

This course is for you if you are hoping for a career in front of house, a professional chef or looking for a route into Hospitality management.NVQ2 in Hospitality Services has four pathways: as a second qualification on our full time level 2 course, as an apprenticeship 1 full day per week or as a stand alone food and beverage service or food production qualification.

Course content

Subjects you will study for the food and beverage route include serving alcoholic beverages, preparing and serving for table service, customer care, maintaining a payment point, wine service,silver service, customer care and the compulsory units health and safety, food safety and effective working relationships.For the food production route you will study preparing and cooking bread, fish, vegetables and frit, eggs, pasta, rice, meat and completing kitchen documentation.

Entry requirements

You will have a relevant Level 1 Hospitality and Catering qualification or relevant experience within the industry. GCSE above grade C in English and Maths or level 1 result for both english and maths on initial screening.


You will be assessed with practical observations and short answer paper based tests. Apprentices will carry out on line exams for theory and maths and english functional skills at Level 1.
