Sport Studies at Hastingsbury Business and Enterprise College

Course description

Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Sport, Diploma in Sport and Extended Diploma in Sport encourage candidate’s skills, knowledge and understanding of sporting activities, environments and operations. The course encourages candidates to gain a greater understanding of the diversity within the sports sector and specialise in a route if they select to. The course’s content is directly relevant to employment situations, thereby enhancing their employability into the sport sector.

The 4 mandatory units that span across all qualifications are:

  • Principles of Anatomy and Physiology
  • The Physiology of Fitness
  • Assessing Risk in Sport
  • Fitness Testing for Sport and Exercise
  • Entry requirements

    Minimum of 5 GCSE passes atA*-C from at least 4 different subjects. Level 3 sport studies course have pre requisite of D at GCSE PE, or Merit or above at Level 2 sports studies. Anyone who has not taken either course will be referred to the PE faculty for further discussion.
