In particular, the course addresses the following: How do we fit into Society? DO we fit in? If not, why not?Different ways of examining Society and Human Behaviour, e.g. Marxism, Feminism as well as the more "straightforward" explanations you are used to. Are they accurate? For A2, the areas of Religion and Crime & Deviance are covered. Work on Theory and Methods is further developed and consolidated.Research skills—how do we know what we know about people and Society? At A2, there is an option of coursework as well as examination. It provides a very useful additional subject to most areas, especially other Social Sciences or Arts/Humanities based courses. It can be an interesting balance to Mathematical or Science based courses. In terms of careers, if you are aiming to work in any area that involves regular contact with, and understanding of, the public (e.g. Education, Media, Police, Social work, etc.) you will find the themes covered very useful.
