Course description

This qualification is designed for anyone wanting to work in sport and active leisure sector or looking to progress onto a level 2 sports course. It offers an invaluable look at the opportunities, resources and work carried out across this exciting and dynamic sector and gives you the opportunity to assist at local events gaining valuable experience needed to progress within the sports and active leisure sector

Course content

A variety of topics are covered including taking part in sport, assisting at a sport or leisure event, improving your own fitness, risks & hazards in sport, how the body works, planning your own fitness program and job opportunities in sports & leisure. You will also be given the opportunity to attend an overseas sporting residential, various outdoor activities, including white water rafting, cycling and canoeing. You will also learn functional skills which are English, Maths and ICT as required

Entry requirements

There are no formal qualifications needed.
You will attend an interview and take an Initial Assessment.

The programme is continually assessed on the basis of assignments and practical activities

How will I learn?
