Performing Arts at The Hermitage Academy

Course description

The BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Performing Arts is a practical, work-related course. You learn by completing projects and assignments that will help you understand the opportunities, challenges and demands of the Performing Arts industry. You will focus on particular subject areas within Drama, Dance and Music and develop a range of specialist skills and knowledge.

The BTEC Subsidiary Diploma is the equivalent of one A-Level with 6 units chosen depending on the skills and interests of students taking the course.
Examples of current units are:
Performing to an Audience / Drama Improvisation / Theatre for Children / Singing Skills for Actors and Dancers / Variety Performance / Choreographing Dance.

Entry requirements

Entry Requirements: A GCSE or BTEC Level 2 qualification in either Dance and/or Drama and/or Music is desirable but not essential as long as candidates have extra-curricular experience and a genuine interest in Performing Arts.
