Course description

What will I study?
The Level 3 course is about developing functional business skills, covering units from the following:
• The innovative entrepreneur
• Business planning and pitching
• Financial planning and implementation
• Launching your business vision
• Monitoring the performance of your business
• Operating your business
• Leadership and teamwork
• Working as an ‘intrepreneur’ (an entrepreneur within an existing organisation)
• Market research and analysis
• Financial literacy and awareness
• Business in an international context
• E-marketing and website design
• Brand development and promotion
• Social enterprise
This course is 100% coursework assessment. You will also engage in a 4 week work placement in a corporate, small/medium sized organisation which will provide you with the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills you have gained. Upon successful completion you could progress to a suitable university qualification or put your skills and knowledge into practise in business.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade C or above, or an equivalent Level 2 qualification at grade Merit or above with Functional Skills Maths and English at Level 2 and a good reference. If you do not already have qualifications in English and Maths you will need to do a short test. Adult Learners (aged over 18) applying for this course should be able to demonstrate relevant work experience.
