NVQ Level 3 Plumbing Certificate at Calderdale College

Course description

For persons employed fully as a trainer/plumber who wish to obtain industry qualification.

Course content

Persons will be able to complete this course whilst still completing the technical certificate. Candidates must show competence to an on-site assessor whilst carrying out the designated assessments. The evidence is obtained from either the technical certificate L3 or on-site. A certificate cannot be issued unless the Level 3 Plumbing Technical Certificate has been completed.

You will be expected  to attend the drop-in course work sessions at regular intervals as designated.

Entry requirements

NVQ2 Plumbing.
Work placement with plumbing company and can generate the required evidence within the area.

Interview with a specialist tutor.

Assessment

On-site assessment for the practical assessments apart from the wiring part which is carried out in college.
Job knowledge undertaken with the technical certificate level3.
The following certificates are also required:
- Water Regulations.
- Unvented Hot Water.
- Gas ACS (may be required).

Financial information

In most cases students aged 18 and under who wish to enrol on a full time further education course will have their fees waived.  Students who are aged 19 and over and who wish to enrol on a full time course should contact our Student Services Team on 01422-399367 for more information.

Future opportunities

Progression to a first line supervisors qualification, i.e. 6000 Certificate.
