Level 3 BTEC in ICT at Norwood School

Course description

This is a two A-level equivalent course and you will develop practical skills and theoretical understanding of the world of business. This is a two-year course consisting of a maximum of twelve assessed units.

There is a common first year with the system support students and will include subjects such as Communication and Employability, Computer Systems, and Website Production. Students will have full use of the facilities available on The Norwood School network including Microsoft Office, Adobe suite, Programming Languages, Multimedia Packages and Internet facilities.

Students will have a personal tutor who supports and guides them through the course. Students will meet with their personal tutor for group meetings and for personal 1-2-1 meetings on a regular basis.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grades A*-C; GCSEs in English and Maths are required, each of which must be achieved at a minimum grade C or a BTEC Level 2 Diploma in ICT at Merit level plus GCSEs in English and Maths, each of which must be achieved at a minimum grade C (progressing students only). Plus satisfactory reference from last school or college.
