Philosophy (Higher and Standard) at The Sixth Form College Colchester

Course description

This course gives students the opportunity to engage with some of the biggest philosophical questions, including ‘What does it mean to be human?’ ‘What is the right way to act?’ ‘Is it ever justifiable to break the law for political ends?’. When addressing these questions students will not only learn about what other philosophers have said, but more importantly analyse and attempt to solve the problems for themselves.

Entry requirements

The entry requirements for the IB Diploma are broadly the same as for a 4AS programme. However, students will normally need to have C or above passes in English or English Language, Maths, Science and in a modern foreign language (where taken).
