Geography - AS/A2 Level at Rochdale Sixth Form College

Course description

Geography provides students with a broad knowledge of relevant, topical and important aspects of the human and physical world around us. It requires a real interest in world events and is particularly suited to students who like to keep up with issues in the news. Geography complements a wide range of different A-Levels, but in particular suits students studying other humanities subjects like Economics, Business and Government/Politics as well as the Sciences.

Careers with an A-Level in Geography are very broad, but in particular some opportunities can exist in areas like Environmental Management, Utilities, Town Planning and Surveying. In addition to subject knowledge you will also be required to develop other skills like oral communication and presentations and report writing and debating, all of which are core skills that many employers look for.
