Course description

Physical Education:

Physical Education is a popular subject at RSFC and students here thoroughly enjoy the course. Having both a practical and theoretical focus, it allows students to demonstrate their strengths in many ways and offers a wide variety of learning experiences. Being a National Curriculum subject, it is very popular with students who wish to follow a career in teaching as well as those who would like a career within the Sport and Leisure Industry. Not only is this course recognised as an academic subject by universities it is also acknowledged as a course that develops your ability to communicate well with others and develop your team work skills.

Physical Education is a demanding subject that offers a wide range of learning and assessment methods to suit your needs. It is a highly enjoyable and worthwhile qualification.

Entry requirements

To study A-Levels at RSFC you must have achieved a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade A* - C, covering at least four different subject areas. Two of the 5 A* - C grades must include GCSE Maths and English Language. A good school reference, attendance and behaviour record are also required as is a positive college interview.

Financial information

If you are between 16 and 19 years old and think that you might struggle with the costs of full-time education you may apply for a bursary. The students most in need will be eligible to receive a bursary of £1,200 a year. This group includes:

• Disabled young people in receipt of both Employment Support Allowance and Disability Living Allowance

• Young people in care• Care leavers

• Young people in receipt of income support

Other students facing genuine financial difficulties can apply for the Discretionary Bursary Fund (DBF).The DBF can support students with travel costs, equipment, books and other course-related costs.
