Modern Foreign Languages - French at Denefield School

Course description

The UK has a shortage not just of specialist linguists, but also of people who can combine language skills with other specialism, such as law or engineering. Students with an analytical and logical mind and those who are creative do well at AS and A Level in languages.

You will learn how to communicate, present and problem-solve more effectively - and in another language.

  • Reading and discussion on current issues
  • Using ICT: research & presentation
  • Working with others: role play & debate
  • Learning and ommunication skills for speaking and writing; how to plan and present a logical argument and demonstrate your ability to analyse information.
  • Entry requirements

    To study the full range of AS Level subjects you will need to have achieved an average of 46 points from your GCSE qualifications (mostly B grades +) and, a minimum of B grades in science and/or mathematics should you be applying to study these subjects.
