Light Vehicle Repair and Technology Certificate Level 2 at City of Bristol College

Course description

This programme will provide you with knowledge and the practical training you require to start you on the pathway to become a fully qualified motor vehicle technician. You will study in many different ways; practical tasks, assignment work, group activities, use of the internet and self study. On our programme you will undertake a number of modules and you will be required to be successful in all of them in order to obtain the qualification.

Course content

• Health & Safety practices • Tools, equipment and materials • Engine systems • Engine cooling and lubrication systems • Braking, steering and suspension systems • Routine vehicle maintenance processes • Air, fuel and exhaust systems • Gearbox, clutch and final drive systems • Electrical and ignition systems • Functional skills • Contextual maths and English.

Entry requirements

• 3 GCSEs Grades A-D • Record of achievement showing good attendance and punctuality.
