Graphics at Uplands Community College School Sixth Form

Course description

This qualification emphasises two key factors - creativity and sustainability.  A sign of the modern technological age in which we live is that human actions have had a negative impact on our environment.  New products provide solutions rather than add to the existing problems of extractions and use of natural resources, pollution from manufacturing and disposal of large amounts of waste products.

Good design is vital to our world and economy, it is important therefore, that we give future designers a passion for designing their futures.

This subject can be teamed with many permutations of A Level subjects.

Entry requirements

5 A* - C grades at GCSE including grade B or above in Resistant Materials or Graphics.

Future opportunities

Further study can be carried out at either University or work in the fields of Automotive Design, Product Design and Industrial Design.
