Music BTEC Extended Diploma Level 3 at New College Nottingham
If you love music, are interested in a music career and want to develop your technical skills in music production, this is the course for you.
You’ll get plenty of time in the studio, lots of time mixing, editing and making music and you’ll have the chance to work in real venues to support professional sound engineers, including the Capital FM Arena, one of our key industry partners. You'll also have the opportunity to be involved in various gigs abroad.

During the course you will learn about music performance, music theory, and the music business. You'll also learn how to compose and record your own music productions and advance your skills as a performer.
Specific units include:
Performing live with music technology
Lectures & practical work in a professional studio and the music technology suite.
Students must have ONE of the following:
• 4 GCSEs at grade A*-C, including English or maths
• Level 2 BTEC Diploma in Music at merit, plus GCSE English or maths at grade A*-C
• Equivalent qualifications - Functional Skills may be accepted in place of GCSE maths and/or English
You will also need to be at Grade 5 standard on your instrument/vocals and have knowledge of Grade 3 music theory and take part in an audition.
You will be assessed on practical tasks, projects and productions, supported by a record of written evidence.
